ICARE’s 17th annual fundraising dinner on Saturday, April 13, was attended by about 700 animal lovers. Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Whiskey Creek, sponsored by Union Bank of California, Sierra Wave Media and DWP. The meal was served by the hardworking 4-H members. It was an exciting evening with a live auction led by former local legend, John Dailey. Live auction items made $7,825 and the silent auction items brought in $9,214. Raffle tickets were sold for a dog-themed quilt and a cat-themed quilt made and donated by the Quilters in Stitches and raised $885. Stan Smith and his unstoppable 50/50 crew raised $6,489. The lucky winner, Bob Lamia of Big Pine, walked away with $3,244.50 in his pocket with the other half going to ICARE.
The ICARE Board extends a very sincere thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters. We really are blessed to live in such a generous and caring community! For photos of the festivities, visit our web site www.ICAREforPets.org

spend some of that money on educating people about their own responsibilities as pet owners
Bless the beasts and the children
For in this world they have no voice
They have no choice
You 2 have done a great job with the ICARE program.More local People need to understand how your program works. If you come from a low income paid family or individual and have pets, ICARE helps you get a lower paying rate when you make an appointment for your pets at the vets. Bishop vets cost less than Mammoth vets.
This really helps get your Puppies,Dogs, and Cats shots and fixed. Just call Lisa and ask. It’s well worth it especially when you work a low paying job like all of us do living in Bishop,Mammoth, and all the Eastern Sierra. The dinners are the best food & event with a give back benefit and for a good cause in the Eastern Sierras. Thanks again Lisa and your great team. 🙂
Sheriff Lutze LOOKING GOOD in the apron with the tongs cooking the meals…Hope this fundraiser helps a lot with the new shelter ….they do so much for the homeless animals in our County.
I’m not good at complements, but our animal shelter is run by some of the most caring employees in the state. I hope they get what they need.
