Bishop Police Department press release
Early morning Sunday, June 5, 2016, at approximately 0322 hours, units from the Bishop Fire Department as well as the Bishop Police Department responded to the area of the 100 block of Edwards Street off West Line Street for a reported residential structure fire.
Upon arrival, units found a multi-residential structure fully evolved in flames. Bishop Fire Department units, with the assistance of the Big Pine Fire Department and Cal Fire worked to extinguish the blaze, while units from the Bishop Police Department and the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department evacuated numerous residents from the area.
There were no injuries reported. The apartment building was left with major damage, and as a result of the fire, several vehicles parked at the complex were destroyed.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing at this time, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Bishop Police Department at (760) 873-5866.

Is there support for the families who lost their homes?
Wow so much damage, glad no one was injured or killed, and so sorry to the owner, what a hassel that will be. =( I went by as a looky-lou and was pretty much stared down and followed out by a woman in there until I left….guess she doesn’t want any one “looking” lol
Living in Swall Meadows, I saw a lot of gawkers in the weeks and even months after last year’s Round fire. I understand the curiosity, but it’s not much appreciated.
