News release
Due to the excellent winter season we are having here at June Mountain, demand has been high, and we are expecting over 2,000 people on the mountain each day of the Presidents Weekend.
To help reduce the amount of guests driving to the mountain, ESTA will be running a shuttle throughout town on Saturday, February 18, and Sunday, February 19.
The ESTA shuttle will run from 8am-12pm and again from 1pm-5pm on both days. The shuttle will start at Boulder Lodge, stop at the Tiger Bar, Trout Town Joes, June Mountain, Fern Creek Lodge and Double Eagle. It will then return to the mountain and from there head back to Boulder Lodge.
Departures will be every 20 minutes from June Mountain; i.e. at the top, :20, and :40 of the hour.

..Don’t think it’s so much the June Lake people not wanting economic growth or “more beds”….think what it is,is that they are kind of cautious and worried about their little town and area turning into another Mammoth Lakes, where growth went way overboard a few years back, where money rules the town after massive growth and money took over, turning it into what it is today…..where nothing else matters but catering to the rich SoCalers…
A very vocal minority of residents and second homeowners “like June Lake the way it is” and don’t want change or growth. Most of them don’t ski or need a local job, they don’t care if the ski area stays open and are not concerned about the economic sustainability of the community. The definition of a June Lake Advocate is someone who already has a second home in the mountains.
Let’s get the discussion going…June Lakers want the mountain open, but they don’t want more “beds” to be built? I.e. The rodeo grounds. You guys are going to have to make a decision.
