Dr. Mark Hodges will be setting up a telescope for the public to view Saturday morning’s annular eclipse (NOT annual) at Field #1 at Bishop City Park. He will be there about 8am until about 10:30 am. In addition to the telescope, he will be projecting an image and will have eclipse glasses for people to use.

Partial eclipse begins at 8:06 am
Maximum will be at 9:23 am – 81% of the Sun will be covered up
Eclipse ends at 10:48 am

It is called an annular eclipse because the Moon is too far from the Earth to completely cover the disk of the Sun, which produces an annular ring.
