Have You Seen Dixie? She was lost on July 27, 2012 near Big Springs Road & Owens River Road in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
Dixie is a medium-sized Queensland/Husky mix. She’s wearing a black collar with a red I.D. tag. She should respond to “Dixie, come!”
If found, please call Amy at 805-440-3600. Thank you!

Dixie is still missing. I hope she turns up like your dog did.
Any news?
Me and my wife were up there Saturday. Followed the creek and kept calling for her. With all of the people camping up there, and your flyers posted, somebody should come across her at some point.
Thanks so much Steve and your wife too! The kindness of folks in Mammoth has been so touching! It is such a vast area and we couldn’t do it without you! Thank you.
Thanks Aaron,
We were there too. We camped in the spot where she disappeared. No sign of her, but many dirtbikers also offered to search. Thanks so much for looking for her.
I spent several hours in the area driving/hiking on Sat calling for Dixie but had no luck. I hope she was found. I saw a dead animal on sb 395 between 120 and june loop. Thought it was her for a second but was a coyote…sad nonetheless.
Edit sorry did not see Amy’s post so disregard mine…i am a knucklehead. I will look for the kid this weekend.
Thank you Steve K, Lisa and everyone else for your help. We have met many very wonderful people in our search for Dixie! She is still out there somewhere so thanks for looking.
Last year we lost our dog Ivy near the Crowley Lake dam. We were camping, and she wandered off with our other dog. Our other dog returned, but Ivy did not. We posted flyers, made calls, and returned to area several times. I even camped out two more times hoping she would show up at my campsite. I finally spotted her with binoculars 28 days after we lost her. I called her and she came to me and jumped right in the truck. She lost a lot of weight but was fine otherwise. Don’t give up. Dogs are tough and resourceful. I’ll be up there this Saturday to have a look around.
The dog has been found ?…If so,,,,,YEAAAA !!!
I don’t believe so. Check out Lisa Schade’s comment.

Just a quick note, Dixie’s owners were visiting the area when she went missing. They had to return home, but have made arrangements for a good Samaritan to take Dixie in locally until they can make the return trip for the happy reunion. In the meantime, let’s all say a prayer for Dixie’s safety and her owners’ peace of mind.
I believe the sheriff dispatcher said they had a found Queensland mix at big springs campground when I called Mon/Tues about our lost dog (found now.) I would call them if you haven’t yet done so…
Thank you all for your kind wishes. Dixie is not at the shelter-I’ve been checking every day! Please help us find her! Thanks!
Amy….I REALLY hope you get your get Dixie back.
