TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES DOG LICENSE/VACCINATION CLINIC JUNE 9
It’s time to renew Town of Mammoth Lakes dog licenses for the upcoming fiscal year. Join us for our annual license sale/vaccination clinic in the Police Department parking lot on Saturday, June 9 from 4 to 5:30 pm.
If your dog does not need a rabies vaccination update, you can just purchase a license for $13 if your animal is spayed/neutered or $30 if it is not. You don’t need to bring your pet to the clinic unless it needs a vaccination update. Dr. Gaylon TeSlaa and the staff of Alpen Veterinary clinic will be on hand with low cost vaccinations for both dogs and cats.
Please bring proof of spay/neuter if applicable, and proof of a current rabies vaccination if your dog is not due this year. If you are paying by check, and will be purchasing a license and vaccinations, remember that you will be paying two separate bills.
For everyone’s safety, please have your dog on a leash and your cat in a carrier. If your animal doesn’t do well with others, please leave it in your car until you complete your paperwork, and the vet will come to your vehicle to administer the shots.
By law in California, all dogs over the age of 4 months must have a license and be vaccinated against rabies. Mammoth Lakes does not require a license for cats.
If you don’t live in Mammoth, but can’t make any of the Mono County clinics, you are welcome to bring your animals for vaccinations. We won’t, however, be able to sell you a Mono County dog license.
You may now purchase 2012-13 TOML dog licenses at the MLPD front counter, Tuesday through Friday, 8 am to 3 pm. Please bring proof of spay/neuter and current vaccination, or we cannot sell you a tag.
For further information contact Mammoth Lakes Police Department at (760) 934-2011, ext 0.

Conservative radio guru Rush Limbaugh thrust the derogatory word into the political arena in February when he called law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” for testifying before Congress in support of contraceptives. – ABC news
One can clearly see why certain types today identify with this sort of sleazy politics as this has been going on ever since the famous chad incident in Florida, and followed by the bogus WMD in Iraq BS story trumped up by the same Republican group of lawmakers.
And its only gotten worse.
Here’s what Rush is saying:
“Democrats want to kill babies, promote gay lifestyles, love communism, are soft on crime in general, and are bad Americans.”
And the most ignorant of his conservative legions honestly believe people are going to roll over and play dead on this B.S.
Especially in an election year.
All this springs from dog licensing?? I’m impressed, and a little sad.
“Nobody listens to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter or Fox News.”
Nor has any far-right group changed the live-and-let-live philosophy definition of the word liberal to a “anything goes, and communistic” definition of the word.
You’re not fooling anyone, kaat.
America is watching the far-right very closely to see when the next government-hating Tim McVeigh will pop up.
It’s so funny how all of the posts that call someone a fan of “”Rush, etc” even know what these right-leaning media people are saying….most people on the right do not even listen to those talk shows that are more “entertainment” than “news”. The left must be listening to Rush if they are labeling some posts has “Rush-ish”…..otherwise how would they know what Rush says? Ya know! So left-leaning folks….turn off your radios and break you Rush-addiction…..no one cares what Rush says except you….and Rush cannot “make” anyone think what he thinks…how much power do you give this man….get real! And please understand that when some disagrees with what you say – it has nothing to do with Rush and everything to do with the fact that they simply have a different opinion…scary, huh? crazy, huh? quit being so scared of those that think differently than you!
Having a different opinion doesn’t make that opinion valid.
Being critical of someone else’s opinion doesn’t validate that criticism.
Opinions and criticisms are worthless without a viable plan to embody those opinions or a viable alternative to that which is being criticized.
The right wing has all manner of opinions and criticisms — but absolutely no plans or viable alternatives.
For example: Repeal and Replace Obama Care. Seen any replacement yet? The right wing can’t even agree on what to repeal.
How about jobs — the right wing criticizes Obama for not creating jobs yet the Job Creators that the right wing seem to worship like demi-gods haven’t created any jobs.
On and on — what ever the right wing blames Obama for not doing — they themselves have no plan or intention of doing. All they seem to be good at is screaming invectives.
The stated goal of the right wing is to defeat Obama in the upcoming election. They don’t care what damage they inflict on the country or our social contracts or our sense of one nation indivisible. They will do and say anything to defeat Obama. And for that reason, they have — in my mind — disqualified themselves from any and all credibility or validity in our modern political process.
To anyone paying attention to what is going on in today’s society (especially in today’s most polarizing times since the Civil War) they can make the observation that Everything is Politics today and sadly permeates the We vs Them angry mentality and the offensive behavior that goes along with it. (ie. “Nuts!” is their acceptable form of rebuttle).
When people come to realize why it is they find themselves glued to what the modern American conservative movement is saying and how they are saying it, they may then come see where the problem originates and who benefits most from the polarizing.
Divide-and-Conquer is the oldest form of control in history and the most clever (and wealthiest) of the pundits know this all too well and play the anger card to the hilt all the while waving the flag.
You’re right Dr. Facts totally .. but what is the difference between them and you? with all of the foaming at the mouth radio pundits comments .. just saying.
Just The Facts- how do you go off on politics on a dog license article . Nuts!
Tourbillon (10:07) aka Dave 10:37) –
Please review this clip and then offer a reasonable and coherent rebuttle as to why there should be no concern as to what is growing in America today rather than the usual ad hominem Limbaugh-like attacks.
Many thanks.

I don’t need to watch something on YouTube, Fox News or MSNBC to formulate opinions about history or to try to predict the future. Your own attacks on people whose opinion may differ from yours is hypocrisy at its best. Why do you assume that folks who don’t believe what you do are “limbaugh-like” or “rabid right”?
There is a darkness sweeping through the land. And it is called the modern American conservative movement. This dangerously angry movement bears no resemblance whatsoever to our father’s or grandfather’s brand of conservatism. Their gurus and leaders are people like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter and Fox News. They all preach anti-government anti-authority talk and have managed to place this country into a situation that has not been so polarized since the Civil War.
All one has to do is step beyond the usual far-right tactics seen on this blog and see for yourself what is happening today in this country. A quick google search of Tea Party, Far-right, Conservative movement will tell you more that people like would care to admit. And this dangerous movement is growing.
Tonto…A dangerous movement yes…..But seems to be a controllable one too…not enough of these kind of people to actually make a lot of difference..and when it comes to a bottom line, most people got enough sense not to believe most of what they say,and enough sense not to vote them into an important office.
for real?…..”a darkness creeping through this land”…. “this dangerous movement is growing”……you are simply afraid…but of what it’s hard to tell. What do you imagine is going to happen? Who is feeding your fears. Turn off your radio and TV and talk to your neighbors – to real people…you will feel more peaceful.
Here ya go kaat.
Clearly, the momentun for this sort of hate-filled I(albeit flag-waving philosophy) seems to be catching on with gatherings at the Beck rally,Washington, etc.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OemUugDSeWk&feature=related
These freaks are popping up everywhere. Even on blogs.
Once again the name calling Just the facts is furious that not everybody believes in what he believes or watches on You Tube. He believes if one isn’t “right” than they’re “left” and if it isn’t white it must be black and if one suggests fixing immigration policies they MUST be racist. Your posts provide at least provide comic relief.
Now Dave wants us to think whatever you see documented on Youtube are lies and I suppose everything Rush Limbaugh and Fox News tells you is the truth.
; >
Who writes your material, Dave? Glenn Beck? Sarah Palin? Ann Coulter?
Thanks again Dr. Facts .. lol
I see once again the rabid “Right is right” tea partiers are having a problem with reality as they expose themselves again and again on these blogs. The childish “Conservatives are better than anybody else” nonsense is taken directly from the mouth of their neocon guru Rush Limbaugh, who has been duping them with hate-mongerering for years. (And I know, “Nobody listens to Limbaugh 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, and reruns on weekends.”)
Those racists living in California would most certainly be much happier in Utah, Arizona, or Mississippi where racism is commonplace and acceptable – not in live-and-let-live California.
Meanwhile here is a chilling and stark reminder of what is happening today in America due to the rabid Right convinced that Right is right.

PS Give it all the thumbs down you want. You can even restart you computer and give it as many thumbs to “stack the deck” but the facts of growing insanity in America is clearly evident. I’ll provide more if you want.
And the rhetoric goes on … thanks Dr. Facts
Facts, here are some facts. You post and get hammered. Two possibilities come to mind. The first is that you are correct and everyone else is nuts. And then there is the alternative. Just the facts.
Tourbillon/Dave –
And therefore your completely coherent and logical rebuttal is …?
I’ll take the time to coherently and logically communicate with someone who also can think coherently and logically. Unfortunately “Just the facts” (or whatever moniker he’s hiding under today) isn’t that person.
Tourbillon (aka Dave) likes to rely on the “thumbs up/thumbs down” nonsense instead of providing anything resembling an intelligent and coherent rebuttle to postings.
Re-boot and re-vote appears to be his “rebuttle.”
And sadly, we are seeing angst-ridden political groups screaming: “Extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary measures!” This means untruths and ad hominem attacks right from the pages of conservative guru, Rush Limbaugh.
You can always tell when a Limbaughite finds his way onto these formats.
They like to shout ( ie.,” NOBODY spews more hatred, bitterness, angst and political polarization than YOU !!!!!!” )
And instead of offering a coherent, thought out rebuttle to a comment they prefer this sort of nonsense –
“That is why your ” dislikes ” are always double or triple of your ” likes ” minimum.”
It must be difficult to be living in an otherwise liberal and open-minded state such as California when they might be happier moving to the state of Utah. : >
Have you ever considered the fact that the state of UT has a balanced budget, no debt, lower crime rate and better school test results? The conservatives should come to CA to fix things instead of listening to the bloggers with nothing better to do than the name calling “Just the facts”.
Terry -the thought of me sounding like I’m sticking up for Just A Fact is confusing at best. But the last place I would want to move to in this country is Utah. Utah laws mandate they have a balanced budget . Theirs a old joke about how Utah’s bars have no windows that may best explain me point of view on Utah’s way of life.
The Rush Limbaugh Show is the highest-rated talk-radio program in the United States.
In the 1990s Limbaugh’s books The Way Things Ought to Be (1992) and See, I Told You So (1993) made The New York Times Best Seller list. Limbaugh frequently criticizes, in his books and on his show, what he regards as liberal policies and politicians, as well as what he perceives as a pervasive liberal bias in major U.S. media. In fact, it has been said that the mainstay of his rants always include the specious use of the word liberal in almost each and every subject.
Limbaugh has also been effective in turning his listeners into rabid anti-Obama and anti-goverment factions.
It seems to me that some of our angriest anti-authority posters bear an uncanny resemblance to Limbaugh in the caustic manner they express themselves.
Thank you again Dr. Facts.
Right Rob.
Nobody listens to neocon hero and icon Rush Limbaugh 3 straight hours a day, 5 days per week and reruns on weekends. Also, nobody goes to Tea Party conventions, Glenn Beck rallies, thinks Sarah Palin should be president, and believes clips like this are just more leftist propaganda:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OemUugDSeWk&feature=related
Rob –
With all due respect, I never listen to Rush Limbaugh.
JTF – Fair enough. I don’t know anyone that listens to him.
Seriously does anyone that post here listen to him? I kinda doubt it, there’s much better things to do then listen to Limbaugh, especially when we live in such a wonderful area as the Eastern Sierra.
Sadly though, there are those who feel “Rush is right on!” .. but I’m over listening to it here lol .. all that stuff Dr. Facts say’s is old now .. I think we can move along … past the evil radio pundit rhetoric.
I will say that some of what he say’s is true but it gets lost when he goes on about radio talk shows.
I have to agree with Wayne on this one. Inyo and Mono do a great job saving these dogs. In most big cities it is a different story. They don’t even try to find the owners and most dogs are put down. Not here.
In that respect Trouble I’m pretty happy with Animal Control.
If they’d enforce the Teathered Leash Law without favoritism they’d be golden!
Both my dogs are from the shelter and I plan on getting one more soon.
yes I agree too.
If your dog got lost the “waste” of your hard earned money(a whole $ 13.00)would be well worth it if it were found and tracked back to you and your residence..
Dog licenses are a waste of my hard earned money. Screw mammoth and mono county!
Just so ya know Joe. Mono County Animal control doesn’t have anything to do with the town of Mammoth. You guys are incoorporated. Ya have your own
Oh and if you don’t like it here, you are free to move. No one asked you to come here and no one has asked you to stay. It is a free country. If you aren’t happy, well then move along little doggy
People, It’s not necessary to slap each other in the face with words. Please use more balance.
Benett Kessler
There are two type of people who find their way unto formats like this.
Those who are interested in a legitimate exchange of information, and those who believe this is just a spinoff of talk-radio programs that spout nothing but angst and political polarization.
Just the Facts,
NOBODY spews more hatred, bitterness, angst and political polarization than YOU !!!!!!
That is why your ” dislikes ” are always double or triple of your ” likes ” minimum.
This sort of blogging can foster narcissism. There are a lot of people blogging who really have nothing to say. They are reaching out into cyberspace for some kind of connection, but they would do better to read the best bloggers and restrict themselves to the comment boxes there or just press the Like/Dislike buttons.
It can be very easy to post in the heat of the moment and then later to realize that what you wrote wasn’t very prudent.
There are a lot of silly bloggers out there, but what people don’t realize is that these people are not taken seriously. They are the online equivalent of village idiots just killing time until the next Rush Limbaugh Show comes on.
I hope you were looking in the mirror when you posted that Just the facts
TY Dr. facts
Hey, Just the Facts:
Isn’t your pen name a little ironic? I don’t think you would recognize a fact, or truth for that matter, if it came up and bit you (just like a little doggie!). Perhaps you should call yourself Just the Blather!
