Forecast Discussion – Thu Dec 21 2023

Yesterday (Wednesday) a compact upper cyclone pushed along the spine of the Sierra, bringing a little snow. That low leaves behind today approx. 5 inches of new snow in Mammoth. Remember we have been stuck with a Southerly flow, which limits accumulations. Also today, the center of that low moves farther South, with precipitation bands barely reaching Mono County. So expect light showers with maybe 1 – 2 inches of new snow above 8K feet. With all of this the Owens Valley looks to pick up a few showers…DMATT

Temperatures Today:

Bishop: 51 / 29
Mammoth Lakes: 37 / 25
Independence: 51 / 36
Lone Pine: 48 / 38
Ridgecrest: 59 / 48
Death Valley: 71 / 57
