TUESDAY 13-DEC-2011
Light snow fell yesterday and last night up and down the Sierra, Inyo and White Mtns. Even the Alabama Hills picked up a little of the white stuff. The closed low that caused this is now pushing into Northern Baja. For today, there is still a slight chance of a residual shower or two in Mono and Inyo Counties. But things will gradually clear in response to an upper ridge building in on Wednesday. That ridge will be short lived as another low moves in on Thursday. Thus a slight chance of showers again, particularly for Mono County then. That low moves southward on Friday leaving cool but dry conditions for the weekend.
FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:
Today: Partly sunny with a slight chance of shower or two. Highs near 45 and lows 19. Winds NE 5 – 8 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny skies becoming cloudy at night. Highs 47 and lows 21. Winds SW 5 mph.
FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:
Today: Partly sunny with a 30% chance of snow showers. Highs 27 and lows 16. Winds N 5 – 10 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny then mostly cloudy in the evening. Highs 35 and lows 20. Winds NW 5 mph.
FOR MONO COUNTY:
Today: Partly to mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow. Highs 31 – 41 and lows 3 – 13. Winds N 5 – 10 mph.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy day and night. Highs 36 – 41 and lows 9 – 19. Winds S 5 – 10 mph.
