FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

TUESDAY July 10, 2012

Upper level ridge will mostly dominate our district thru Friday. This will bring on-going hot temperatures to our area with triple digits in the Owens Valley and mid 90s in parts of Mono County. Speaking of Mono County there is a chance of thunderstorms today thru the weekend as moisture from the SE moves in. For the Owens Valley there remains a slight chance thunderstorms thru the weekend as well. By Saturday an upper trof passes thru the PACNW and this will cool things a bit into Sunday.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Sunny becoming partly cloudy. Highs 103 and lows 60. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny becoming partly cloudy with a slight chance of t-storms after 1 pm. Highs 100 and lows 61. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Sunny then partly cloudy with a chance of t-storms after 2 pm. Highs 83 and lows 56. Winds SW 5 – 10 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny then a 20% chance of t-storms after 11 am. Highs 85 and lows 58. Winds SE 10 -15 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Sunny becoming partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon t-storms. Highs 86 – 96 and lows 48 – 58. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
Wednesday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of afternoon showers and t-storms. Highs 87 – 97 and lows 50 – 60. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph.
