Well after a wild thunderstorm weekend (the Whitney Trial was closed down for awhile on Saturday) those thunderstorms will taper off today. Hikers were stranded on the Whitney Trail from torrential rain, hours of pea sized hail and overflowing streams. Sunday saw extensive cloud cover which inhibited thunderstorm action in parts of our district. All is better today, as a trough begins to set-up off the coast. This will create a dry SW flow and push any moisture to the east, thus ending any chances of thunderstorms by Tuesday for the Owens Valley and Wednesday for Mono County.

Today: Partly sunny 30% chance of thunderstorms. Highs around 95. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph.
