Todays weather can be summed up in one word, Windy. A storm system out of the Gulf of Alaska will bring Warning level winds and minimal precipitation to the district. Yes, there is a chance of light snow in the High Country and a little rain in the Owens Valley. But, depending on where you are, it will be the winds that will draw your attention. For the Owens Valley, gusts to + 65 mph are possible and Mono County could see + 60 mph. On Wednesday, the system will have moved east, leaving behind on-going breezy and cool conditions. By Thursday, things settle down as high pressure re-establishes itself. So, calm and warming conditions thru the weekend.
FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:
Today: Very windy with a slight chance of rain or snow overnight. Highs 50 – 55 and lows 26 – 31. Winds SW 30 – 40 mph G 70 in the afternoon & evening.
Wednesday: Sunny and continued windy. Highs 47 – 52 and lows 29 – 34. Winds N 20 – 30 mph G 40.
FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:
Today: 60% chance of snow showers then a 30% in the evening. Highs 29 and lows 10. Winds W 25 mph G 45.
Wednesday: Sunny then mostly clear in the evening. Highs 27 and lows 15. Winds NE 10 – 20 mph G 30.
FOR MONO COUNTY:
Today: 60% chance of snow then 20% chance of showers at night. Highs 33 – 43 and lows 4 – 14. Winds W 20 – 30 mph G 50.
Wednesday: Sunny the mostly clear in the evening. Highs 30 – 40 and lows 9 – 19. Winds NE 20 – 25 mph G 40.
