Last day of August here and where the heck did this month go? Seasonably warm today with gusty SW winds into Friday. All this before the synoptic pattern starts to change going into the weekend. A PACNW upper low starts to dig South, before it cuts off from the main flow and drops down around NORCAL and the Great Basin Saturday. Besides the aforementioned winds, the other impact will be a 20 – 40% chance of precipitation over Mono County and Mammoth Saturday / Sunday. Temps drop some 10 – 15 degress below normal by Sunday as well. If you are above 10K feet or so, you might even catch a few snowflakes over the weekend…DMATT
