Our active pattern stays in place, with ejecting shortwaves moving down the coast. All from a parent longwave trough positioned over the PACNW, running up along the US / Canadian border. So after a short lived break on Sunday, these “pieces of energy” will continue to impact our area. So the main event (heaviest snow with full on blizzard conditions) will be Monday into Tuesday for Mammoth, tapering off Wednesday. Snow is estimated through the period, 38 – 48 inches at the Main Lodge and 44 – 54 inches over the Summit by Wednesday. We finally get a little longer break Thursday and Friday…DMATT
DMATTS Weather Fact: Snow wise, Mammoth is now sitting @ 106% of average for the month of February.
