With our recent troughing pattern off the coast (with its associated cooler air and t’storms), some of you may be wondering where did our Spring / Summer ridge go? Well it’s parked over the PACNW and SW Canada. That heat dome of cloud squashing high pressure has brought record breaking temperatures in Oregon, Washington and up into British Columbia, along with wildfires. This something we usually start talking about this time of year for the Intermountain West. Meanwhile a compact upper low will slowly drift East, bringing gradually cooling temperatures with continued t’storms over Mammoth, Mono County and maybe a few in the Owens Valley…DMATT
