The AR storm door blows wide open in CA Thursday. As the N. Pacific ridge breaks down, it allows a strong upper jet to transport copious sub tropical moisture into our region. That moisture will penetrate inland Thursday and bring with it, wind, rain and snow into the upcoming weekend. So we go from a cold storm pattern to a warm storm pattern. Generally snow levels will trend higher, starting at about 6k feet and working their way up to 8k or 8.5K feet. That means that the heaviest snow will be confined to the Sierra.
