Mammoth Hospital Administrator Gary Boyd said that the deadline for those interested in an appointment to the Mammoth Hospital Board is December 8th, next Wednesday. The appointment will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Hospital Board Chairman Don Sage.
As we reported Monday, the Hospital Board accepted Sage’s resignation at their November meeting. Sage told us his departure becomes officially effective today. He also said that the Board would “probably appoint Linda Salcido”, former board member who lost in the November election. When asked if there were a public process for others to apply, Sage said he believed there was.
Administrator Gary Boyd said that a public notice to fill the vacancy was posted at the hospital, post office and county elections department and would be published in local papers later this week.” The time frames give members of the public a week or less to consider and file.
The public notice says that to serve on the Hospital Board, a citizen must be a registered voter, over 18 years of age and live within the boundaries of the Southern Mono Healthcare District. The vacant term expires November 30, 2012.
Anyone interested should contact the District Secretary at the District Offices at 760-924-4114 to request an application. Use of mail may not allow citizens to meet the December 8 deadline.
Applications must be returned to the District Office by 5pm on Wednesday, December 8th. The Hospital Board will interview applicants at their meeting, Thursday, December 16 and then appoint someone.
