Collision results in Felony DUI arrest east of Big Pine

Here’s a press release from the Bishop CHP,  of a collision that occurred on SR-168 east of Big Pine on 01/24/20 resulting in a Felony DUI arrest. Sierra Wave Media reminds everyone to use a designated driver and don’t drive under the influence. Remember if you see a distracted driver, report it. That action could save lives.

“On January 24, 2020, at approximately 2:46 PM, 21 year old Hillary Duckey from Big Pine, CA, was driving eastbound on SR-168E, just east of Death Valley Road in a 2008 Nissan Sentra.  Duckey allowed the vehicle to drift off the roadway onto the south dirt shoulder, where the vehicle overturned multiple times.  Personnel from the Big Pine Volunteer Fire Department, Inyo County Sheriff’s Department, Symon’s Ambulance, and Bishop CHP responded to the scene.  Both Duckey and her passenger were transported to Northern Inyo Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Following a DUI investigation, Hillary Ducky was arrested on the suspicion of Felony DUI.

This collision is still under investigation by Bishop CHP.”
