November 23, 2020 – LEE VINING — Following Yosemite National Park’s closure of Tioga Road, Caltrans has closed its Lee Vining gate on State Route 120 West for the winter season. The gate was originally closed in early November in preparation for a series of snowstorms that blanketed the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada.
State Route 120 West is the first mountain pass in Mono County to close for the season. State Route 168 West in Inyo County is also closed for the winter at the Aspendell gate. Monitor Pass/State Route 89 and Sonora Pass/State Route 108 remain closed following the latest winter storm.
