D9 End Treatments Project Set to Begin
INYO, MONO AND EASTERN KERN COUNTIES – Caltrans will begin construction on various highways for the D9 End Treatments Project on Monday. This 4-month project will upgrade and revitalize guardrail in 33 different locations throughout District 9.
Work will begin in northern Mono County on State Route 182 between Masonic Road and Murphy Pond north of Bridgeport. There will be one-way traffic control, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. There will also be work on Monitor Pass Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. There will be one-way traffic control and drivers may experience delays of up to 10 minutes.
This $2,565,656 project will begin with guardrail work will replace more than 2,000 feet of metal beam guardrail with Midwest Guardrail System, which meets updated safety standards from the federal government. In the event of a traffic incident, the new guardrails will curl instead of crumple around a vehicle.

State Route 89 (1)
o  Monitor Pass near Boarshead Road
State Route 120 (1)
o  About 2.5 miles east of Ellery Lake on Tioga Road
State Route 182 (6)
o  0.3 miles north of Masonic Road
o  0.4 miles north of Masonic Road
o  One mile north of Masonic Road
o  Next to the Bridgeport Dam
o  0.2 miles north of the Bridgeport Dam
o  North of the East Walker River overcrossing
U.S. Highway 395 (2)
o  LADWP Aqueduct Bridge, south of Aeolian Buttes Road
o  South of Horse Meadows Road
Inyo County:
State Route 168 E (1)
o  Just east of Aspendell
U.S. Highway 395 (1)
o  South of LADWP Aqueduct, close to North Haiwee Road
Kern County:
State Route 14 (7)
o  Pine Tree Wash, near Pine Tree Canyon Road
o  Rancho Seco, between Water Canyon Road and Jawbone Canyon Road
o  Jawbone Canyon Wash, between Jawbone Canyon Road and Rogers Road
o  Cantil Wash, between Redrock Randsburg Road and the southern boundary of Red Rock Canyon State Park
o  Red Rock Canyon State Park North Parking Lot
o  Freeman Gulch, about a mile and a half south of the junction with State Route 178 W
o  Junction with U.S. Highway 395

o  Four separate locations over irrigation culverts within a mile of each other just east of Weldon
o  Cane Brake Creek, between Jacks Creek Road and Pine Hollow Avenue
o  Between North Victor Street and North Charles Street east of Inyokern
State Route 202 (1)
o  West of Bertram Circle in Tehachapi
U.S. Highway 395 (7)
o  North end of Johannesburg
o  About three miles north of Johannesburg
o  About 1.5 miles south of Bowman Road
o  Half a mile south of Bowman Road
o  Just north of the junction with State Route 14 in Bradys
o  1.5 miles north of Bradys
o  Washbox Bridge just north of Coyote Trail Avenue
