BUHS Track & Field competed this past Saturday at the Carson City High School Invitational, facing 15 schools including Reed, Spanish Springs, Damonte Ranch, Bishop Manogue, and Hug High School. The Broncos had a strong showing with multiple personal bests, especially in the throws, boys 400m, and both the Boys 4x400m and Boys 4x800m relay teams.
(So) Hunter Dailey placed 3rd in the triple jump with a mark of 40’6.5”.
(Jr) Soren Davis tied for 10th in the high jump at 5’2”.
(Jr) Clare Haverstock placed 10th in the 400m with a time of 1:07.
(So) Wyatt Miears had an outstanding performance, taking 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 45’3.5” and winning the discus with a massive PR of 185’10”, finishing nearly 35 feet ahead of the competition. He narrowly missed the Carson City stadium record of 186’. His throw now ranks as the 3rd farthest in the Central Section, #4 in California, and #46 in the United States.
Wyatt has also officially qualified for Nike Nationals (Discus), where he will compete against the top high school throwers in the nation at the University of Oregon from June 18–22.
BUHS Track & Field will host its final home dual meet of the season on Wednesday, 4/29/26 vs Cal City.
Field events: 3:00 PM
Running events: 3:30 PM
Following the meet, we will host our 2nd Annual “Anything But a Baton” Costume Relay, immediately after the dual.
