BUHS Football Broncos

Bishop hosted the undefeated Golden Valley Bulldogs on Thursday.

This was the first match for the Broncos this year.  The team only has 4 returning players.
The Broncos were unable to win a set but still played some great tennis.   Final score, Golden Valley 9 Bishop 0.
Jacee Carpenter played #1 singles scores 3-6 2-6
Ximena Cervantes-Mendez new to the team this year played in the #2 spot.  She lost her first set 3-6 and had the lead for awhile in the second set but then lost 4-6.
Hailey Bragdon lost 3-6 3-6
Dominique Osland lost 0-6 1-6 but gained some helpful pointers from her opponent.
Olivia Ellis played her first tennis match in the # 5 spot and lost 2-6 1-6
Darby Swanson finished out the singles in the # 6 spot also losing 2-6 1-6
In doubles action Jacee Carpenter and Ximena Cervantes-Mendez played the #1ś  losing 0-6 1-6
Hailey Bragdon and Dominique Osland lost 1-6 3-6 to the #2 doubles
Senior Leslie Mena paired up with newcomber Ava Aceo they lost 1-6 0-6.
¨It was great to see the girls finally get back on the courts¨ said coach Cummings.   Even though we lost the girls commented on how much fun they had competing  and how nice the other team was said Cummings.
Next up for Bishop they will host Burroughs at 2 pm on Friday.
