The Broncos opened the 2026 football season with a 27-20 win over Fernley Friday night at John Schwab Field. Hunter Dailey rushed for 208 yards on 14 carries scoring three times including the go ahead score late in the 4th quarter. The Bronco defense led by Senior Linebacker Dom Dondero sealed the game with a goal line stand as time expired. In addition to Dailey’s scores the offense also got a big play in the passing game as Dom Barlow connected with DeVaun Mitchell for a 53 yard score in the 1st half. The Bronco Defense held a very strong Fernley offense in check with a big night from Dom Dondero. Dom had a pair of Quarterback sacks to go with 9 solo tackles and 5 assists. Dailey matched his offensive success with a big night on defense recording a team high 4 tackles for a loss en route to 10 solo tackles. Dailey also recovered the fumble on the game’s last play sealing the win. DeVaun Mitchell had 2 tackles for loss and 6 solos, Oscar Henriquez and Zane Nicholson made 5 total tackles. In the secondary Dom Barlow had 5 solo tackles and a pass breakup, while safety Clifton Paco had 6 total tackles. Defensive lineman Dax Svacina, Jay Jimenez, Kole Barlow and Sergio Sandoval all played well up front. Bishop will next face Yerington at home this Friday night with a 7pm kickoff.
