A 20-year-old Bishop woman died in an accident on Sherwin Grade Saturday. The California Highway Patrol said they are continuing to investigate.
What officers did say is that the woman, whose identity has not been released, was travelling southbond on Highway 395 south of the Sherwin Grade Vista Point at an undetermined speed. They said for unknown reasons she allowed the left side tires to drive off the asphalt edge and onto the center divider.
Officers said the woman abruptly turned the pick up to the right “causing it to rotate sideways and overturn numerous times in the center divider.” The young woman sustained fatal injuries as a result of this collision, which is still under investigation by the Bishop Area CHP.
