Bishop Swears in New Police Chief

Richard Standridge was officially sworn in as Bishop’s Police Chief by Bishop Mayor Stephen Muchovej at a brief ceremony Monday morning in the Council Chambers.

There was a repeat performance later Monday evening at the City Council meeting, same place, different time.

Standridge comes to Bishop following 20 years on the Porterville PD, leaving as the Investigations Division Lieutenant. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Phoenix and is nearing completion of a Master’s in Justice Management from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is also a graduate of POST Command College.

Sierra Wave will give Standridge a couple of weeks to settle into his new job before we sit down for an interview.
