The Bronco golf team had their season awards lunch this past Sunday at the Back Alley. I would like to give a great big Thank you to Ashley and the staff at the Back Alley for everything! Their generous hospitality and support of Bronco Sports is amazing! Thank you to Andy Boxley for his continuous support and generous donation! We couldn’t have the season or success we have without our local business support!

 

Varsity Awards handed out:

 

Cooper Beard was named MVP and Top Golfer. Cooper is an amazing young man with leadership and passion for the sport, his team and life. Cooper also received a Scholar athlete award.

 

Garin Pritchard received our Ultimate Teammate award for his dedication and commitment to the team throughout the year. He never had a bad thing to say and Always supported and appreciated everyone on the team.

 

Parker Pope revived the perseverance award. Parker started the season after having elbow surgery and continued to improve and score low. Playing any sport right after surgery is difficult, but golf is extremely difficult. He never complained or missed a match because of this. Very proud of his commitment and determination.

 

Travis Cano received our Most Improved Award. Travis started the season unsure and slow. But he never faltered or gave up. His scores improved throughout the season and he even was low score in a couple matches. Travis is vert competitive and gets on himself to do better. He has a great outlook on life and just fun to be around. Always there to make you laugh or smile.

 

Francesco Toscanini and Zane Nicholson were named Co- Rookies of the year. Both of these Freshman showed extreme maturity and talent for their first year. Neither of these two young men showed any signs of nerves or frustration at anytime during the season. Focus and patience were the key. They both scored 82 at State and missed the individual championship by just 1 stroke. I am looking forward to next year how far these 2 young men can go!

 

Robby McBride was named our 7th man award. Robby filled in when someone wasn’t available and did outstanding. He was even low score 2 times during the season. Robby never complained and was there for his team when they needed him. Robby will be back next year for his Senior Year and will help the team tremendously.

 

Junior Varsity Awards:

Most Improved Award: Weston White and Cooper Peek Rookie of the Year: Reed Carpenter 110% / Coaches Award: Blake Jahn

 

I want to thank all of the Parents for their commitment in getting the boys to practices and staying up late to pick them up when we got back from road trips.

Thank you to everyone who supported Bronco Golf and generously donated. This little community of ours is truly amazing in the way they support our local youth and high school sports athletes.
