The Bishop Broncos Boys Varsity Basketball team is kicking off their season in Hawthorne, Nevada. They will be participating in the Serpent Classic and playing five games starting Thursday night into Saturday evening.
This was the first game where the Broncos were able to have a full roster now that the football season has ended and they came out on top taking down the Sparks Railroaders by a score of 53-43.
Leading the way in scoring tonight was Senior Brady Kalk with 13 points. Richie Talavera had 10 points, Chris Charley with 8 points, Dom Dondero had 7 points, Jakobe Dondero had 6 points, Devaun Mitchell with 5 points, Elijah Reynolds with 3 points and Emory Dondero with 1 point. Charlie Lewis, Carlos Sualez, Angel Zamora, and Brad Rottner went scoreless but put in some good minutes, chipping in with good defense and hustle to help the Broncos get their first win of the season. They will be playing 2 games tomorrow starting with the Smith Valley Bulldogs at 5:15 followed by the Yerington Lions at 7:45.
I’m excited to finally get this season started and looking forward to seeing what this team can do. Thank you.
Coach Bradley Weaver
