The Big Pine Fire Protection District proudly invites our community, neighboring agencies, family, friends, and supporters to join us as we celebrate the addition of our new Type 3 Wildland Fire Engine to our fleet.

The Push-In Ceremony is a time-honored fire service tradition that dates back to the days of horse-drawn fire apparatus. After returning from a call, firefighters would manually push the engine back into the station because the horses could not back the apparatus into the bay. Today, this tradition symbolizes unity, teamwork, and the beginning of a new chapter as an apparatus is officially placed into service.

This new Type 3 fire engine represents the continued commitment of the Big Pine Fire Protection District to protecting the lives, property of our community. It enhances our ability to respond to wildland fires, structure fires, medical emergencies, and mutual aid requests throughout the Eastern Sierra and across California.

We are grateful for the support of our community, our volunteer firefighters, our Board, and everyone who has helped make this important investment possible. We invite you to join us as we dedicate, and ceremonially push our newest engine into the station, marking the beginning of its service to the citizens of Big Pine.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to tour the new engine and visit with members of the department.
