Tom Clements of Bishop called to remind us that it was on this day (August 7) in 1942 that the First Division of the Marine Corps invaded the Japanese on the island of Tulagi in Guadalcanal. It was the start of the defeat of the Japanese in World War II. Tom won 4 purple hearts all told, and noted that sometimes people forget about World War II. Tom, we won’t forget. Thank You.
