Former Mono County Assessor James Lovett has pled no contest to a charge of driving under the influence.

Mono District Attorney George Booth described Lovett’s sentence as “standard” in a first offense case. Lovett was fined $1470, and will be on unsupervised probation for three years. Lovett must also attend a first offender DUI program, and agreed to random drug testing during his probation should a peace officer make the request.

Lovett retired from his post as Mono County Assessor in May, days before a measure to recall him passed with 94% of the vote in Mono County.
