Richard Ferrell Andreas, Sr. of Bishop
The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies served a search warrant on Richard Ferrell Andreas, Sr., 51, of Bishop on Friday, February 3.
Officers said that they arrested Andreas for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. Andreas was transported to the Inyo County Jail where he is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to contact the Inyo Sheriff’s Office at 760-87-0383.

Many, but certainly not all, who cry “freedom of speech” are often, it seems, those who are the first to deny others of theirs.
Wait a minute aren’t we discussing a dirt bag committing a hideous crime here? Two words for Richard Ferrell Andreas, Sr. of Bishop. “General Population”.
Wow! “Child molester HEAVEN”! incredible! What kind of person would choose such words?!… Anyone care to field a guess? Also, brilliant placement of blame… it’s the county’s fault that child molesters exist?! Again, anyone care to guess what kind of person would blame the county and not the individual for child molesters? Not that I’m insinuating anything here…and please, don’t bother replying as this is my one and only post.

WHY AND HOW did a story about a disgusting child molester become a lets slam Benett forum?
If you don’t like the way Ms. Kessler reports the news. “MOVE ALONG LITTLE DOGGY” I don’t know Ms. Kessler, but this is absolutely the mos ridiculous group of postings I have ever read.
Yeah I hear ya Home girl, but that is the way these threads go .. like any conversation, one person starts something in a direction, then people respond to that direction, sort of like a school of fish following the lead fish. But then people have their opinions about this and that and everything in between. Some just seem to be negative about their expressions.

I have no idea where you are getting your information Freedomofspeech, but you could not
be farther from the truth. I relocated here years ago to raise my school-aged daughter in this area. She went to school here from second grade on and during her time as a student, she was involved with school activities and sports activities. While attending school here she made many friends that like my daughter, have gone on to successful college careers. I resent your bloody accusations about the area that I choose to raise my daughter in. I feel blessed to live in this community and to have had the opportunity to raise my daughter here. Your comments are not fact-based and as such, maybe you should keep your comments to yourself!
Well said. Many posts are not fact based but I appreciate reading them because they provide a way for those who post them to expose themselves as having no credibility.
Your are deleting posts because you don’t like them. Not because they are illegal.

The full truth here is that publishing mean-spirited, non-factual, hate tinged opinions does not improve our community. Verbal bullying is no more acceptable here than it is in our neighborhoods.

I’m glad to see some of the not so nice comments as another reader has mentioned, not just the good ones, it reminds us of how messed up the world is at times.
Bennet I have seen you over the years in the media, you have not been unbiased on things, while I understand human nature is to feel bias, and living in a community and being in the position of reporting news locally, would challenge even the best journalists to be neutral.
The reason I commented about you in my previous post about not being one of my favorite people is directly as a result of my observations as stated above. In reading this, you might not have me high on the list either at this point.
This forum is pretty good, I’d say, from what I have seen. I’ll give ya that. Like I said, I’m glad to see both sides of these stories. People can learn even from the bad that people bring to such places as this, they can learn from the good that comes as well.

Freedom of speech, right on you exercised your right to speak of your narrow mindedness with regard to your comment about Inyo County being a child molester haven.
How did you come up with that assessment. It seems the only sickness is your agenda which you are trying to further through this medium.
Thank God, you have the opportunity to voice such opinions here, so far I have not seen any posts being deleted or blocked, but then, I wouldn’t know, I am not the admin. Censorship is all around. Practice what you preach and allow all posts. Why are you controlling the forum?
The constitutional mandate for freedom of speech does not apply here.
I still think that this would be a more civil forum if Benett would; “practice what she preaches” by not posting any comments from pseudonyms, unless, in rare circumstance the commenter posts specific pertinent information that would otherwise not get to the public without the safety of the shielding. A very rare situation.
The irony of claiming the “right” of freedom of speech, only to abuse the privilege here to demean others, while cowering behind a false name is beyond hypocritical.
And how would you characterize the author, “Publius”, of the Federalist Papers, which advocated passage of the Constitution? Hypocritical coward who knew nothing of the First Amendment?
Tourbillon isn’t abusive. Anonymity allows many of us to comfortably participate in a public forum without fear of sanction by employers, coworkers, etc.
One should be proud of their position and let the world know who you are. You are not participating if you hide behind a false name. That is just a cop out.

Some of us can’t post under our real names, for reasons we are not at liberty to discuss. I agree with you, its easy for people to talk smack behind their phony names.

I guess you do not understand or cannot read but both sides of an argument/discussion are posted here and I salute KSRW and Benett for doing an excellent job. This site provides freedom of speech by posting both sides of an issue. In the past offensive posts as determined by poling of posters were not removed, they were still available and with a mouse click could be opened and read.
One more comment on the Issue. CNN and MSNBC don’t label themselves as Liberal News outlets but everyone knows that they are.

You might consider that all big TV networks are now owned by major corporations (GE owns NBC, Disney owns ABC, etc., etc.). Most would imagine that their interests are not “liberal”.

The myth of the “Liberal Media” was created by people who want to discredit any media outlet that even comes close to actual factual reporting and by that factual reporting, discredit “Facts As Needed” reporting.
It’s easier to pin the label on the media and then attack the label.
So IMHO anytime you hear someone denigrate a media source as “Liberal” — first question the intent and the information of the questioner…. (those ellipses are for someone special)

Maybe you aren’t old enough to remember when the media were neither liberal or conservative, they reported the news as good journalists and left out the spin. Now its all spin, and they are either liberal or conservative. Note an internet headline on Yahoo today “Court says Spanish-Speaker Banned from Public Office”. If you don’t know this story, what does that make you think? You can’t hold office cause you speak spanish?
The woman in question was unable to speak, read, or write English, yet was attempting to run for office. Spin or no spin? You decide.
If you really think that media outlets like newspapers, magazines and TV and radio at one time were unbiased, you haven’t read any history.
Try doing some research on how media has addressed politicians and social issues. Remember, most all media is sponsored in one way or another by people with money who stand to make more money if the candidates or social issues they support win.

“Liberal” now means “statist” in terms of industrial policy and rent-seeking and those are the facets of modern liberalism that big corporations love. Big business is very smart, and when they see an opportunity to get in bed with a big-government, favor-dispensing machine, they leap at it. They leverage their size in rent-seeking in a way that small businesses such as those in the Owens Valley utterly lack. Or perhaps you believe that GE paying ZERO tax on billions in profits and Goldman mostly escaping the financial carnage is merely coincidental?
No Ms. Kessler, I shall not permit you to obfuscate the well-documented fact of MSM liberal bias by reference to a false assumption.

Tourbillon, your partial definition of “liberal” is reasonable. Such definitions seem to change as needed.
But to lay the silent coup de’etat by our large corporations at the feet of Obama is just not correct. Look at the share of corporate taxes as a percentage of GDP over the last 50 years. It’s been steadily diminishing.
And if you want to talk about Golman Sachs influence on our government — remember Hank Paulson came straight from CEO of GS to Bush’s Secretary of the Treasury in 2006
The country has problems but they are not all caused by liberals and not all caused by the guy who’s only been President for 3 years and inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression.
