Airport Fire Feb 17 2022

 

As of this evening’s incident report from CalFire the fire size has grown to 4,136 acres and is 20% contained.  Forward rate of progress has been stopped north of Hwy 168 and firefighters continue to construct containment lines and mop-up the North end of the fire.  Although 150 structures had been threatened no structures have been destroyed.

THE EVACUATION ORDER FOR BIG PINE HAS BEEN LIFTED. Residents may return to their homes. Hwy 168 closure has been lifted. Be mindful of traffic signage and fire personnel in the area. Warm Springs remains closed east from Hwy 395.

Assigned resources for the Airport Fire:  63 engines,  7 water tankers, 3 helicopters, 7 dozers, 16 hand crews, total personnel 690
