Greetings!
With snow on the high peaks and more snow slated to fall in the Owen’s Valley tomorrow, winter has arrived in the Sierra.
At ESLT, we’re reflecting on a year filled with so many exciting events, gatherings, days on protected lands, and preparing for the future of our work together in the Eastern Sierra. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to protect critical habitat, connect wildlife corridors, and ensure our region’s natural beauty remains for generations to come.
We recently celebrated our Lands & Legacy event, where Roaring ’20s costumes were donned, one of a kind experiences were auctioned, and we celebrated the collective efforts and gifts that make this work possible. It was a special moment to connect with old friends and new, and to look ahead to the future of ESLT’s conservation, stewardship, and community engagement initiatives.
We’re also excited to share that California’s Prop 4 initiative passed, securing $10 BILLION in funding for land conservation efforts like ours. This is a significant milestone that will help support land trusts and safeguard our state’s natural resources for years to come.
As the year ends, we invite you to join us for our Holiday Mixer in December and encourage you to consider year-end giving.
Your gift, no matter how small, will help us continue safeguarding the lands and waters that sustain us all.
With Gratitude,
Amy Sturgill
