The 10-year anniversary of the most tragic day in United States history is Sunday, Sept. 11.
A Day of Remembrance will be held at Mendenhall Park in Big Pine on Sunday; the day starts with a flag ceremony at 6 a.m., a pancake breakfast from 7-9 a.m.
A Service of Remembrance is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., followed at 11 a.m. with the opening of booths, kids games, and crafts and lunch.
At noon, people will pass The Torch of Freedom, a special flag ceremony with a flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol.
There will also be an opportunity to walk the labyrinth of Remembrance.
At 3 p.m., a Ceremony of Gratitude, Let Freedom Ring, with thanks to local law enforcement, responders, businesses and individuals for their help during the Center Fire.
Sage Romero and his dancers will perform at 4 p.m. with the closing flag ceremony at 6 p.m.
A Day of Remembrance is set for Sunday, 9/11, in Big Pine at Mendenhall Park.
