Solid Waste Franchise Service Fee Floor Rate Adjustment Public Hearing

Mono County residents are invited to attend a public hearing conducted by the Board of Supervisors to consider an increase to the Solid Waste Service Fee Floor Rates.

The hearing will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday December 16th at the Board of Supervisors Chambers, Mono County Courthouse, Bridgeport.   Community members can also attend virtually via Zoom at https://monocounty.zoom.us/j/83537511698 or visit https://www.zoom.us/, click on “Join A Meeting” and enter the Zoom Webinar ID 835 3751 1698.  Oral and written presentations will be made, and the public will have the opportunity to speak.

All Solid Waste Providers in Mono County are required to enter into a Franchise Agreement.  Service Floor Rates are set as the minimum that a Solid Waste Franchisee can charge.  These rates are set to support fair competition with Solid Waste Removal.  The Two Existing Franchisees can and have been charging more than the present Floor Rates that were set in 2021.  There has been a request to increase Floor Rates.  The new floor rates will be considered and may be approved at this meeting.
