The Bishop Boys Varsity Basketball Team was at home Friday night in a matchup with the Desert Scorpions.  Both teams were 4-0 in league play entering Fridays matchup.

The Broncos came out in the first quarter and jumped all over the Scorpions with Emory Dondero and Chris Charley leading the way.  Dondero had 8 and Charley had 6 points in the first quarter giving the Broncos a 19-8 lead at the end of the first.  The Broncos kept it going in the second quarter with their great defense, pressing the Scorpions and getting them to turn the ball over multiple times. They went into halftime with the Broncos leading 38-19.

Emory Dondero and Chris Charley had another big 3rd quarter for the Broncos with Dondero scoring 9 and Charley scoring 6 in the 3rd.  The damage was done by the end of the quarter with the Broncos up big 55-30 at the end of the third.  They ran away with this one and ended the game with a 71-58 victory.

The Broncos are now at 5-0 in the High Desert League.

We played a great all around game, everyone did their jobs and believed in our game plan and it paid off for us.

Leading the way in scoring with a big game was Emory Dondero with 23 points and 4 assists and 3 steals, followed  by a big game from Chris Charley with 17 points 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals, Jakobe Dondero had a good game with 12 points 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal, Brady Kalk had 4 points and 4 rebounds, Charley Lewis with 4 points, Devaun Mitchell had 3 points 2 rebounds 1 steal and 1 assist, Richie Talavera had 3 points 2 rebounds 2 assists and 5 steals, and Carlos Sualez added 2 points and 3 rebounds.

The Broncos are back in action Tuesday night at home where they face off against the Cal City Ravens, which always seems to be a good game. Come out and help support your league leading Bishop Broncos Basketball.
