First-of-its-kind Pride Festival to Celebrate Local and Visiting LGBTQIA2SP+ Community
Eastern Sierra Pride is spearheading its inaugural Pride Festival on June 4th and 5th at the Tri-County Fairgrounds, and other venues, in Bishop. This is a first-of-its-kind festival for the Eastern Sierra area.
The festival will include a drag show, dancing, a Tupperware party, bingo, musical
performances, stand-up comedy, and more. The June 4th events are for people aged 18 and
older; June 5th events are for all ages. The Tupperware party on June 5th will be held at C5
Studios.
In addition to the scheduled Pride Festival events, there will be many local businesses and
organizations hosting vendor and informational booths on the 5th.
“We are ecstatic to launch our first Pride Festival for the Eastern Sierra! Having our festival
during our first-ever Pride Month, as recognized by the County of Inyo, is icing on the cake,”
said Deena Davenport-Conway, President, Eastern Sierra Pride. “We can’t thank the Tri-County
Fairgrounds, C5 Studios, our sponsors, vendors, and volunteers enough for all of their support.”

In addition to organizing the Pride Festival, Eastern Sierra Pride will continue to host local
community meetups in Bishop on the 1st Monday of each month at Mountain Rambler Brewery, 6pm-9pm, and in Mammoth Lakes on May 25th and June 15th at Mammoth Brewing Company, 6pm-9pm (all ages welcome at both locations).

What time does it start on Sunday?
Every group gets to show their pride with the exception of one, and if they do they are viciously attacked and accused of being something they’re not.
Wait, “Tupperware party”? I didn’t even know Tupperware was still in existence.
What group would that be, Tinner? And where are these “vicious attacks” taking place?
What is that one that you think doesn’t show their Pride? Was it a group that historically oppressed people in America or a group that was historically oppressed? For instance, Boston has a huge St. Patrick’s Day celebration as both Irish and Catholics faced oppression in the early days of America. So I’m really curious which group’s lack of representation you’re so sad about.
Is there going to be a festival queen for the event?
That would be awesome!!
Count me in.
I would love to have a Drag Queen pageant. Winner reins over next years event.
What is the point of Drag Queens please?
Fun JOlie, fun!
So awesome! I’m proud of Bishop!
“LGBTQIA2SP+” Where does the keyboard mash stop? In the pursuit of inclusivity, you’ve lost all ability to appreciate how ridiculous this looks to the casual observer.
The 2SP addition is specifically inclusive of our local native populations two-spirit members.
Have you ever tried to explain “Bishop Mule Days” to a casual observer ?
Many small towns have a Testicle Festival. Explaining Mule Days is easy.
I call it the Cowboy Cosplay Convention. And fight the urge to spell those with “K”s.
LMAO LOL ROFL ! Oh, sorry Sally!
as an “Elder” of the community , i have Advocated for the use of the word QUEER as an Umbrella term for 20 years now , to almost no avail. I really hate the Alphabet Soup …
Yeah, it’s a lot more common in academic circles and I honestly like it as a general term myself, but it does have a history as a slur and as one specifically targeting gay men (versus inclusive groups), but I don’t think it’s beyond reclaiming.
I mean, “punk” was also used as an anti-gay slur and that has been pretty much entirely reclaimed.
Meanwhile the governments agenda for JEDI “Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion” promoted the discrimination of people who found the idea of wearing a mask or injecting themselves with experimental substances abhorrent.
JEDI for me but not for ye is what they really mean. They use the LGBTQAI2sp+LMNOP as their front organization where we must accept them but they will not accept us. It’s all smoke and mirrors to divide and conquer.

Your anger about JEDI makes your allegiance clear, Sith.
I mean, that and your obvious embrace of anger and hatred.
😀
Thanks for taking your stance on this which proves my point perfectly. Somehow, in your convoluted thinking, you take my point that the JEDI agenda is full of hypocrisy as me being hateful. Somehow, me saying that the JEDI agenda promotes discrimination and hate against certain people makes me hateful… Absolute insanity.
You have a victims complex friend. Oh and if you think you are clever for coming to the Star wars Jedi and sith connection I have some news for you. They labeled it JEDI with that exact connection in mind so people like you would jump on it.. cause they know how easily manipulated the victim complex people are. Plus it makes it easy to label people as evil when even the slightest criticism of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Keep it up Dan, bring this thing full circle!
😉
William, The truth of the matter is that the instant you hit submit on “people who found the idea of wearing a mask or injecting themselves with experimental substances abhorrent”, you lost any credibility.
I’m laughing because you are a joke.
There are some bigoted people in these discussions who may yet see that love is important. The “exvangelical” movement is full of testimonies along those lines.
To continue the Star Wars analogy, they may be Vader, but if it comes down to supporting the Empire or murdering their own family, they will pick love.
But by rejecting basic community health guidelines (that have been around since Leviticus 13:45-46’s “wear a mask and social distance”), you’ve clearly moved past rational discourse and are on full on parody.
At this point, you’re not even the Emperor, but his tattered, reanimated Rise of Skywalker corpse. And much like that film, you’re not really worth the time.
You brought it full circle. It is clear your JEDI is for ye but not for me. Your words expose the hate in your heart. Judging me with labels that are completely unfounded demonstrates this perfectly. Full circle.. most likely due to your own self hatred.
I just asked what was the IA, like a month ago….and now they added 2sp+….LOL…just use +, it’s more inclusive!
