Suspected Drunk Driver Hits Bishop School Bus

On 09/16/21 at approximately 1:44 PM, a Bishop Unified School District school bus, loaded with multiple school aged children, was traveling in the slow lane of northbound US-395 near Jay Street in Bishop. At the same time, Christopher Rufener of Mohave Valley, AZ, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado pickup, in the fast lane of northbound US-395, and was passing the school bus. Due to Rufener’s state of intoxication, he caused the pickup to swerve to the right and crash into the left side of the school bus. Immediately following the crash, Rufener drove away from the crash scene, without making proper notifications. Personnel from Bishop Police Department, Bishop Volunteer Fire Department, and Bishop CHP arrived on scene and learned no occupants of the bus were injured during the crash. Several minutes later, Inyo County Sheriff’s Department located Rufener and his pickup near West Line Street and See-Vee Lane. Rufener was placed under arrest by Bishop CHP on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was booked into Inyo County Jail.

This incident is still under investigation by Bishop CHP.

The Governor of California is Gavin Newsom, who just defeated a recall election that cost the taxpayers, us, $276 million. California’s Department of Education requires public school children to wear masks in class and on buses. President Biden may well support those masks, but there is no Federal law, passed by Congress and signed by Biden, demanding all students wear masks. California is bigger than most countries. If you don’t like masks you need to pay attention to what happens in Sacramento. Try getting a subscription to a California newspaper.

Listen LOW IQ , For the last time , Because i am sick and tired of trying to educate your KIND! All of the masks you CNN/MSNBCLGBTQ lemmings are wearing will only stop Large Bacteria , 3 to 4 Microns in Size .
The Covid-19 Virus and all of its Variants are at the most 1/10th of a Micron in size . You fools have been TERRORIZED by the FAKE NEWS.
I pity you. Wearing a Mask to stop Covid is like trying to stop a Moskeeto with a Chain ling Fence .

Reading is awesome. And clearly you do know how to read as you read my earlier comment, in which I recommended following California news. The TV stations you referenced do NOT have California news. In fact if you want California news you have to read, you cannot watch. If I myself am a lemming I am a lemming to the LA Times, and the SierraWave website. If you want to harass people in your community who have no control over mask mandates continue you as you are. If you want something to change contact our state representative and California’s Department of Education. You know how to read, you can type, you have access to the internet, you have more power than you know.

Let me ask you a question..if I may.
If trump (that other guy ) all of the sudden changed his mind and said wearing a mask was a good and safer thing to do until this pandemic was over, would you still feel the same way as you seem to ?
My bet is,you’d suddenly change your thinking and go along with …that other guy…

Interesting that some trucks are always named things like “Colorado.”

Makes sense – who wants to drive a Chevy “Iowa”?
