Our strong high pressure dome will remain parked over CA / NV and the Great Basin. So unfortunately, we will have no relief from the heat. Even the higher elevations will begin to feel the impacts of this heatwave, with Aspendel and Mammoth lakes clocking in at about 86° by Sunday. For our area, there is the potential for long standing temperature records to be challenged starting Saturday thru next Wednesday. It is essential for anyone planning outdoor activities this weekend or early next week, to take all the necessary heat precautions to avoid heat related illnesses….DMATT
