OK we are entering into a period of long duration heat. By Wednesday, a large part of the Owens Valley will be under an Excessive Heat Warning. This warning will last thru at least the holiday weekend, probably extending into next week. All due to a very strong (596 decameter) EPAC ridge amplifying, then translating Eastward, meandering over the CA / NV border. This scenario implies a prolonged period of afternoon highs and morning lows well above normal…DMATT
