The rest of the winter air service schedule includes Horizon Air’s twice daily, nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Mammoth; daily, nonstop service from San Jose and direct service from Portland. Horizon will operate 76-seat Bombardier Q400s. This is a high-speed, twin-engine turboprop.

All winter seasonal flights run from December 16th to April 24th. Mammoth Mountain’s marketing chief, Howard Pickett has made the rounds to elected and appointed bodies, local clubs and others with the message that air service has succeeded and needs to grow in the future. He points to the financial advantage from visitors who might not come to Mammoth without air flights.
