Area Forecast Discussion – Mon Jul 15 2024
As our big ridge migrated Eastward over the weekend, the flow around the ridge promoted mid level advection into our area. So today isolated to scattered t-storms in the Valleys continue, and a better chance of t-storms over the Sierra Crest. Gusty outflow winds could bring on dust advisories in the Owens Valley. This week, temperatures will be more typical July warmth. Heatrisk then drops to minor all week, so I don’t expect the blistering heat of last week. As the week progresses, drier air will filter in each day, limiting t-storms chances. The ridge will remain to our East through mid week, then take a slight jog Westward by the end of week…DMATT
