This Thursday August 12 from 1:30 to 3:00, County supervisors from several California counties
including Inyo County will join with California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara in hosting a virtual town hall on Wildfire Preparedness and Insurance Resources.

Inyo County Fifth District Supervisor Matt Kingsley is one of seven Eastern/Central California
supervisors scheduled to provide a brief update on their respective jurisdictions during the
webinar. Other counties participating include Fresno, Kern, Madera, Tulare, San Benito, and
San Joaquin.
Following the county supervisors Commissioner Lara will give a presentation. “One of the most
important lessons we have learned during last year’s fire season is that we must be prepared to
keep our families and communities safe,” Lara said. “It is imperative for you to have up-to-date
information on services and resources.”
Other presenters will include CalFire and U.S. Forest Service representatives, as well as a 25-
minute Q&A hosted by Madera and Tulare county supervisors.
