The Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix concluded with four jam-packed days last week at Mammoth Mountain, culminating with the nominations for the halfpipe and first-ever slopestyle teams for next month’s Olympic Games in Sochi.
Shaun White was impressive – as always – qualifying for both teams, and will be gunning for his third straight gold medal in the halfpipe.
Greg Bretz, longtime Mammoth local, qualified for his second Olympics in front of his hometown fans, while Mammoth’s Kelly Clark was at her usual spot atop the women’s halfpipe crew.
