Venneida Lavalah Bryan 1927-2018

Venneida Lavalah Bryan was born August 29th 1927 in Arkansas and passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on January 22nd 2018.

Throughout her life Venneida travelled and held many different jobs in her journeys ranging from picking cotton in Missouri to being an usher in San Francisco where she saw the birth of the career of Lena Horne.

In 1947 she married Winford Stroud and while they unfortunately did not remain married Venneida and Winford were blessed with three children, Patricia, Rick and Phyllis.

In 1971 she married Harry Bryan and welcomed his three boys, Harry Jr, Howard and Chris into her heart as well. Following the death of her husband in 1978, Venneida made annual trips to Missouri to be with her parents.

When she was at home in Benton she became an active member of the community through the Booster Club and Senior Citizen Center.

After selling her home in Benton, Venneida and her daughter Phyllis moved to Bishop. Venneida lived at the Bishop Care Center for the past two years and was a favorite resident for many members of the staff.

Venneida was preceded in death by her parents Noble and Lola May Masterson, stepmother Edith Masterson, husband Harry Bryan and stepson Chris Bryan.

She is survived by her brother Milburn Masterson, daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Eric Banta, son and daughter-in-law Rick and Emily Stroud, daughter Phyllis Stroud, son-in-law Don Binns, stepson and daughter-in-law Harry and June Bryan stepson Howard Bryan, grandchildren Venneida Wade, David Bryan, CJ Bryan, Gaylene Kinzy, Jeanine Stroud, Dillon Bryan and great-grandchildren Christian Bryan, Zachary Berreth, Skyler Bryan, Brendan Wade, Lillian Reische, Lucy Bryan and Donovan Bryan.

Services for Venneida Bryan will be held on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 at 1:00 PM, graveside at East Line Street Cemetery.
