Bishop Varsity Softball traveled to Bakersfield for the Mira Monte Tournament on March 28th and 29th winning the consolation bracket with a 3 and 1 record. The first game of the tournament on Friday was played against Bakersfield Christian and the team lost 13 to 5 putting them into the loser’s bracket. Second game was played against Del Oro High School, with Bishop winning 5 to 3. On Saturday, Bishop played Rosamond High School and won 16 to 4. Their 4th and final game of the tournament was played against Cal City. Bishop came away with the win 9 to 6 winning the consolation bracket.
Sienna Fuller pitched a total of 14 innings over 4 games allowing 16 hits, 14 walks, 3 hit by pitch and 16 strikeouts.
Larissa Ariaz pitched 3 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 walks, 3 Hit by Pitch and 4 strikeouts.
Offensively for the tournament:
Faye Spoonhunter went 6 for 11 with 1 walk, 5 stolen bases, 3 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
Katya Fierro was 5 for 9 with 2 walks, 1 stolen base, 1 RBI and 7 runs scored.
Ellie Boyd went 5 for 8 with 2 walks, 2 stolen bases, 1 RBI and 5 runs scored.
Tannyr Ludwick was 4 for 8 with 5 stolen bases, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
Braydee Momberg was 3 for 6 with 3 sacrifice bunts, 1 walk 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored
Cambrie Lanphear was 3 for 6 with 4 walks, 1 sacrifice, 5 stolen bases, 1 RBI and 5 runs scored.
Sienna Fuller was 2 for 7 with 2 walks 1 stolen base, 1RBI and 3 runs scored.
Laila Beall was 1 for 10 with 3 walks 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Cadence Nott was 1for 6 with 1 walk, 1 stolen base, 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
Azul Aranzubia had 1 walk.
The team played solid defense and was aggressive on the bases. The coaches were very happy about the teams solid performance over the weekend.
Next scheduled game is Tuesday at Rosamond.
