The Mammoth Community Water District Reinforces Commitment to Reliable Water Service and
Support for the Town of Mammoth Lakes in the Event of a Wildland Fire Emergency.
Mammoth Lakes, California –
The Mammoth Community Water District continues to uphold its essential role in providing efficient water and wastewater services to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Mammoth Lakes. The District maintains a reliable and resilient water distribution and sewer collection system, ensuring that the community’s water and wastewater needs are met year-round.
The District’s water distribution system is designed to support the diverse needs of both residential and commercial customers, which covers everyday use, peak demand periods, and supporting firefighting efforts. As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and providing excellent service, the District works diligently to provide clean, safe drinking water by continually fortifying its infrastructure and assets. Through proactive maintenance, regular upgrades, and strategic long-range planning, the District continues to adapt to the changing needs of the community while minimizing any potential service interruptions. The District regularly collaborates with the Mammoth Lakes Fire Department to ensure the water distribution system is available to support firefighting efforts in or around the community. The District’s infrastructure is strategically designed to meet water demands during fire emergencies, and the team works closely with fire officials to ensure that the system meets their needs.
In the event of an emergency, the District advises customers to limit water use when possible. This will help ensure that the distribution system continues to function as designed, and all resources can be directed where most needed to respond to the situation at hand.
