LONE PINE, CA – The Southern Inyo Healthcare District (SIHD) Board of Directors held a special meeting tonight, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 to discuss a Resolution entitled 25-06 Resolution Declaring and Authorizing the Filing of Chapter 9 Bankruptcy along with some other matters and two potential litigation cases which they held in a closed session. After holding public comments and discussions which included CEO Dr. Kevin Flanagan, the Board of Directors passed the resolution. To clarify the resolution, it does not formally declare Bankruptcy as of yet. What it does, is it grants the CEO the authorization to file for bankruptcy when he decides the time has come. Some solutions have been discussed to potentially save the Hospital District, which will be talked about in the full article on tonight’s board meeting which will be posted to Sierra Wave Media in the coming days.
