Yosemite Valley has been experiencing heavy traffic and congestion for the past few weeks and has just launched a new text message alert program. Although Tioga Pass is not currently open, (Still no ETA) we want to make sure visitors at the east entrance are aware of the congestion and prepared to arrive early.

I can remember a time back in the 70’s and 80’s, Yosemite was a quiet,peaceful and tranquil place to see and visit.
Now, nothing more than a Los Angeles with a mountain and Pine Tree view…
In 1970 Earth’s population was about 3.5 billion. Today is is about 8 billion – more than double. So it’s no wonder that natural jewels like Yosemite are more crowded than ever. But not to worry, some far right politicians are advocating to ban birth control which will solve all of our probllems!

And some far right politicians, one in particular talking about and wanting to sell Yosemite National Park, among other National Parks to the highest money-making venture and bidder, and turning it into a theme park,complete with hotels, motels,ferris wheels,high-end restaurants and a magic mountain-type atmosphere…
