Another major street improvement project appears to be in the cards for Bishop. City of Bishop Public Works staff reports that Caltrans has approved a City application for money to build sidewalks on Grove Street between Main and Home Streets.

Strips of sidewalk that dead-end in grass could end up a thing of the past at least on Grove Street. According to City staff, the Caltrans cash was slated to pay to improve the safety of routes that children use to get to school.

The money was recently approved. City staff reports that construction could still be two years out on the sidewalk project. A series of public meetings are planned for this summer and into the fall.
