FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sidewalk Work on Bishop Pavement Project to Progress to Next Area

What you need to know: Work is set to begin on the next stretch of sidewalk on U.S. 395 from W. Line Street to Lagoon Street within the Bishop Pavement Project.

BISHOP — Sidewalk reconstruction on southbound U.S. 395 between W. Line Street and Lagoon Street is expected to start Monday, July 21. Papich Construction crews expect to finish constructing the sidewalk on southbound U.S. 395 from South Street to Mandich Street by the end of this week. The northbound outside lane closure in the same area is anticipated to reopen at the same time.

Once construction moves to the sidewalk between W. Line and Lagoon streets, southbound traffic will shift to one lane beginning at Church Street. Drivers will be able to turn right onto W. Line Street from U.S. 395. Businesses within the work zone will remain accessible during construction, either through their rear entrance off S. Warren Street or the front entrance if there is no rear entry. Access to Lagoon Street will be unavailable from U.S. 395. Drivers can access Lagoon Street using S. Fowler Street or S. Warren Street from W. Line Street or turning onto South Street from U.S. 395.

The southbound outside lane of U.S. 395 from See Vee Lane to the fairgrounds remains closed while crews continue to lay the rough grade for the shared-use path.

Work schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment or materials, or any construction-related issues. For more information about the Bishop Pavement Project, visit Bishop Pavement Project | Caltrans.
